General Motors provide a quick guide for the 2014 Chevrolet Malibu with Start / Stop Technology that included the body structure breakdown and airbag locations. Extrication no cut zones are highlighted in the image below.
To disable the vehicle:
- Turn the ignition switch to “OFF”.
- Cut the black negative 12V battery cables at the starting battery under the hood and the auxiliary battery in the trunk area.
Note: After disabling 12 volt power, wait 1 minute to allow any undeployed airbag reserve energy to dissipate.
