2019 Infiniti QX50 Body Structure

Body Structure

The 2019 Infiniti QX50 body structure is made from varying strengths of steel. SHF 980 MPa steel (colored blue below) is used around the crash zones at the front and rear of the car, to better absorb energy in the event of a collision. Weight-bearing sections around the engine bay and other key structural parts of the car, such as the B-pillar are also made from SHF 980 MPa steel. The vehicle’s cabin is reinforced with 1.2 GPa steel and high tensile steel is used throughout the rest of the bodyshell.
