Moditech the people behind the Crash Recovery System have stepped up to the plate and hit a homerun by offering a version of CRS on the iPad. The app named iCRS Standard USA was released on the iTunes app store on November 18, 2011 for low price of FREE! Yes free! If you have an iPad this is a must have app! Download and use it to test the extrication knowledge of your crew.

MiEV is an acronym for Mitsubishi innovative Electric Vehicle and it is a five-door hatchback electric car and is the electric version of the Mitsubishi i. There is not an Emergency Response Guide (ERG) for the North America version yet because the 2012 model is the first year sold in the United States. The information below is taken from the European market, well the Germany ERG for the 2011 Mitsubishi MiEV. The US version will have some changes, but expect most of the vehicle to remain unchanged.

An extrication instructor and no small name in Extrication Circles, Eric J. Rickenbach wrote an article called A New Twist to SRS: The Door Mounted Curtain Airbag for Moditech. Rickenbach provides some very good information and Moditech's Crash Rocovery System (CRS) provided some very useful images.

The 2012 ERGs should start being released from the automakers anytime and as soon as the documents are available there will be a link available for you to download the pdf files.

One day after I posted about an app for iPhones and iPads called Extraction Zones I ran across a rescue website that can be used on any Smartphone connected to the internet. Another European automaker, Opel, stepped up to the plate and put an extremely useful rescue tool in the hands of many first responders for free! Opel put Rescue Cards that contain information for some 60 models from 1991 to present on a mobile portal that can be used on any Smartphone which has access to the Internet. This free mobile service is available in 10 European languages and enables rescue crews to access important information instantly.

First off, if you do not recieve the Moditech Newsletter than go straight to their website and sign up for it! Acheive newsletters as far back as 2006 as also availible on their website. Take advantage of the free very useful information that Moditech Rescue Solutions provides in the newsletter.
