Came here after reading the newest IIHS news release (on underride / car into tractor trailer crashes), which shows that a Malibu got creamed when they test-ran it into the back of a tractor trailer with a weak underride guard — which I’m sure would happen to most other cars as well.
I’m wondering if the A-pillar on the Malibu contains any UHSS and if not, if it would’ve made any difference in the underride crash results.
