Here’s a quick look at the new body structure of the 2017 Chrysler Pacifica. The 2017 Chrysler Pacifica has a body structure that varies thickness and reinforcements. Tailored blanks are used to provide different thicknesses.
Tailored blank
The pictures below show the door ring of the 2017 Chrysler Pacifica as a tailored blank (Orange). The white strips show where the different thicknesses of metal are. The stripes are on this display and will not be on the vehicles that are on the roadway that we will encounter. However, the stripes are useful to show where strong materials and thicker steels are used.
Steel Reinforcements
The picture below shows the lower B-pillar reinforcement that is only in the bottom of the B-pillar.
