The 2017 BMW i3 Gets New 94 Ah Cells, Good For 33 kWh Of Energy and a range of 114 Miles. The passenger cell of the BMW i3 is made almost entirely from carbon. The lightweight passenger cell offsets the additional weight of the high-voltage battery. The location of the gas engine and the electric motors are in the rear of the vehicle.
