2017 Cadillac XT5 Body Structure

The 2017 Cadillac XT5 aced the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) crashed testing by earning the Top Safety Pick+ (TSP+) when equipped with optional front crash prevention. The TSP+ rating is the highest rating a vehicle can earn from the IIHS.  Additionally, the 2017 Cadillac XT5 has standard with seven airbags. The 2017 Cadillac XT5 is a mixed-metal body structure safety was a top priority during the XT5’s development.

Dash Lift/Roll Challenges

The small overlap IIHS crash test is forcing automakers to beef up the front wheel well and hinge pillar.  The metal in red is Ultra high strength steel that can slow down traditional dash roll/lift techniques.
