Look at the 2016 Nissan Maxima Body Structure and take notice of the Ultra-high strength steel UHSS (1180 MPa) used in the b-pillar. The base of the b-pillar, below the reinforcement is not UHSS. Remember two rules when cutting b-pillars on late model vehicles:
- Cut high on the top cut, above the seat belt height adjuster
- Cut low on the bottom cut.
